สำนักข่าวไทยเป็นสำนักข่าวแห่งแรกของประเทศไทย จัดตั้งขึ้นในปี 2520 มีสถานะเสมือนหนึ่งเป็นสำนักข่าวแห่งชาติ และถือเป็นผู้ผลิตหลักที่เป็นหนึ่งในข้อได้เปรียบทางธุรกิจของบริษัทฯ มีหน้าที่รับผิดชอบในการผลิต รวบรวม จัดเก็บ วิเคราะห์ และเผยแพร่ข้อมูลข่าวสารที่เน้นความเป็นกลาง ถูกต้อง เชื่อถือได้ รวดเร็วทันเหตุการณ์ ผ่านสื่อของบริษัทฯ ที่หลากหลาย ได้แก่

1. สถานีโทรทัศน์โมเดิร์นไนน์
2. สถานีวิทยุฯ โมเดิร์นเรดิโอ
3. สื่ออิเล็กทรอนิคส์ ผ่านทางเว็บไซต์ www.mcot.net รวมทั้งให้บริการข่าวในระบบ SMS ทางโทรศัพท์เคลื่อนที่ ภายใต้บริการ “MCOT X-press”
และ ธุรกิจสื่อใหม่ (New Media)

TNA bears the responsibility for the production, compilation, collection, analysis, and broadcast of neutral, accurate, trustworthy, and timely news and information through the Company’s various media:

3. Electronic media released through the Company’ website (www.mcot.net) and provision of news service in the SMS system sent to mobile phones under a concept of “MCOT X-press”.
